It's fitted when warm and wet and it cures on you for some minutes. It then shrinks slightly after it cools and fully cures. Which means when it's used for the first Radiotherapy session it can feel a tad tight! It's function is to lock you in position while the Radiotherapy Machine revolves around one's head.
